Registration & Process
5You can register online via the form on this website or come directly to the ABP Pemalang office bringing basic documents (KTP, KK, diploma, passport photo). After registration, our marketing team will contact you for the selection process and completeness of files.
Generally, men are of productive age with healthy physical condition, have no legal records that prevent departure, and are willing to take part in the selection, training and medical check-up process. Age and health requirements may vary per vacancy — see details on the Vacancies page.
Yes. ABP accepts both beginners and experienced crew members. Beginner crew members will take part in training and debriefing before placement in accordance with principal standards and applicable regulations.
The process time varies, generally 2–6 months, depending on completeness of documents, medical results, training schedule, visa and ship availability. The process can be faster if all requirements are complete from the start.
Administration, training and document processing fees follow the company's official policies which are explained transparently during registration. Avoid making payments to individuals outside ABP official offices. If in doubt, confirm directly with the office admin.
Documents & Requirements
4General documents include: KTP, KK, Deed/Diploma, Passport, Seaman's Book, BST, SKCK, passport photo, and other supporting documents according to the destination country. The ABP team will provide a complete checklist after you are officially registered.
The ABP team will accompany the process of arranging sailors' passports and books through official procedures. Make sure your NIK and personal data are correct so that the process is not delayed.
Yes. Basic Safety Training (BST) is mandatory for crew members. PT ABP provides a BST training program according to standards before the crew is assigned to the ship.
If you decide not to continue the process, the original documents can be retrieved through the File Withdrawal procedure at the ABP office with official proof of handover. Contact ABP marketing/admin to schedule document collection.
Training & Medical
2The program includes BST (Basic Safety Training), fishing gear training (longline, squid, purse seine), language training, work safety, and pre-departure provision according to the sector and destination country.
Yes, mandatory. Each prospective crew member undergoes a medical check-up at a partner clinic/hospital to ensure physical readiness to work at sea. Medical results that do not meet the requirements can prevent departure.
Placement & Contract
4Salaries are paid by the agency/principal in the destination country according to the employment agreement. PT ABP plays the role of P3MI which accompanies the placement process and helps monitor workers' rights during the contract.
The contract length is generally 1-3 years, depending on the type of ship, agency and work agreement. Contract details are explained before the crew signs the departure documents.
Report immediately via the ABK Portal, ABP's official WhatsApp, or the complaint channel on the website. Our team will coordinate with the agency/principal for resolutions — including health, salary or working conditions issues.
Yes. We monitor the crew throughout the contract through regular communication with the agency, crew reports, and the ABK Portal — so that the family and company remain connected to the crew's condition.
Seafarer Portal
3The ABK Portal is PT ABP's official online service for registered crew — to view information, briefings, placement status, and submit written complaints to the company admin.
Use the account provided by the ABP team after the registration process is active. If you forget your password or don't have an account, contact ABP marketing/admin at the office or official WhatsApp: 6282211080907.
Login to the ABK Portal, open the Complaints menu, write down the problem clearly (documents, salary, placement, etc.), then send. The ABP team will respond via the system and registered contacts.
